Step by Step Guide
STEP 1
Submit your application! Now that you have decided you want to learn more, simply click the ‘Apply’ button and fill in your application to begin the process of the summer trip of a lifetime. Try to give as much detail about your skills and experiences as you possibly can, it’ll help later. Once we have received your application we will contact you for Step 2.
You must be at least 18 years of age and have a clear criminal record.
STEP 2
Arrange your Free Interview- We will contact you to book your free interview with your newly appointed account manager. This interview will discuss your skills, experiences and suitability for camp, whilst also telling you more about the program and all of the logistics involved. Remember, the interview doesn’t cost you anything and you can speak with us directly to find out more about the program, so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by sending in your application and taking the interview!
STEP 3
Acceptance! You have succesfully been accepted on to the program, and by accepting you we firmly believe you will make an excellent camp counselor. Now you need to show your commitment to the program by paying the £75 deposit. Once this fee is paid we will work with you to improve your application so that it is ready for Step 4….
STEP 4
Getting Placed! Work Play USA will work on matching you with one of our camps in America. You will start to hear from camps directors and secure your placement. Once placed by a camp you will then have to pay the remaining £225 fee.
STEP 5
Visa Application- in order to work at a camp in America you need to get a J1 visa. You will need to send a number of documents to Work Play USA including a police background check and references. Once all documents are in we will apply for your visa paperwork and send it out to you.
STEP 6
Attend US Embassy Appointment- to get your visa approved you will need to attend a short interview at the American Embassy. Don’t worry, we’ll tell you how to book the appointment and what to take with you. You will need to pay $160 directly to the Embassy to attend this appointment.
STEP 7
Flights- Now your visa has been approved you are ready to book your flights and begin packing your suitcase! Before you fly, Work Play USA will provide you with a pre departure orientation so you are fully prepared.
STEP 8
Enjoy the summer of a lifetime at camp! Be crazy, silly and most of all, be a positive role model. You'll learn new skills, meet new people and of course, have FUN!

So now that you have finished your camp contract there is only one thing left to do….. make the most of the 30 day grace period on your visa to travel the USA. Where will you go?
